Hitesh's story

When one thinks of hospitality, great service comes to mind and Pauline (SUISSEedu) did just that when helping me with my application for Les Roches. She is a great person who constantly gave me assistance and provided me with insight about Les Roches and the industry. I truly believe that it was Pauline who guided me on the start of my successful career.

Student Quote

“Some 80% of your life is spent working. You want to have fun at home; why shouldn’t you have fun at work?” – Richard Branson. Since the industry is about spreading happiness, why not have fun with it? This is the very reason I chose the hospitality industry. Creating a long lasting impression on people is my passion and I have fun building a relationship with them.

1. Studying in Switzerland – Why did you choose Switzerland as a study destination. And how was your experience studying at Les Roches?

Studying in Switzerland is remarkable. The absolute stunning view right outside your window only motivates you to fight harder for your dreams. The people, the culture, the food especially the cheese fondue, are absolutely amazing. Switzerland has definitely ‘checked in to’ my heart.

2. My Program – Which program did you choose and describe in summary overall program about what you learned from the campuses.

I believe Les Roches prepares you for the future beyond expectations. For my specialization, Entrepreneurship, the faculty provides me with a hands-on- approach by conducting regular business meetings with me in order to prep me for when I meet investors in the real world. Not only does this increase my confidence as an entrepreneur, it also allows me to have the skills and knowledge to start my own business in hospitality or other industries.

3. My Internship – Where did you do your internships and which one was your best experience out of all?

I have completed two internships; each lasted for about 6 months. My first internship was with ITC Grand Central in Mumbai, India. I was doing cross training with the sales and marketing department and the front office department as a reservationist. My second internship was in Brunei Darussalam at the Radisson Hotel, working as Event Sales Coordinator in the Sales and Marketing department as well.

4. My Future – What are your goals after graduation? If graduated already – What is your current position and what do you do daily on your job. What do you love most about it, next career move?

As a fresh graduate, job hunting is not so easy and at times the rejection can be painful. But by having the industry contacts from Les Roches, I was fortunate enough to find a job with Liberty International Tourism Group. One of the largest destination management companies in the world, I got the privilege to work in the Hong Kong office where I have to organize tours and events for inbound clients. Being new to a metropolitan city such as Hong Kong, it isn’t easy but it’s a lot of fun and one gets to learn the ins and outs of the events business. My journey at Les Roches may have come to an end, but my career is just getting started.
