Studying in Switzerland – My Program and First Internship
It was a rather surprising event that I was able to pursue my career in Switzerland, since it has never come across my mind. I remembered vividly that it was during my very first day studying abroad in Singapore that I encountered a friend that questioned me. “ What do you think it would be like studying in Switzerland? ” I was baffled as it was a rather awkward question, never have I been there likewise thought of studying there. However this ignited my curiosity to where I’m today, studying here in both SEG’s campus (SHMS & HIM), while indulging in the rich Swiss hospitable culture. The strong sense of diversity that I was able to reap from encountering different nationalities and their ethics that shapes the innovation in life.
Nonetheless, I pursued both Hospitality Business and Events Management that I personally wanted to achieve in guiding myself towards an entrepreneur pathway. This grants me the skill set specifically in managing my very own firm, whilst innovating the change of concept in society. Additionally, adopting finance as my specialization to further recognize the health of my future business. Furthermore, during this period of my studies I enrolled in a few internship roles, for instance my first which was in Sofitel City Singapore. It was a mind bogglingly experience where I began to grasp adaptation, especially in the midst of crises when the system crashes. Fortunately all were well, in my opinion working internationally would be the ideal learning curve where students can focus in widening their comfort zone.
